Celtic Woman are an all-female vocal ensemble performing various traditional and contemporary Celtic-based songs. They consist of Orla Fallon, Hayley Westenra, Lisa Kelly, Mairead Nesbitt, Chloe Agnew & Maev O'Meara. Often compared to such artists as Clannad, Enya, and Loreena McKennitt, Celtic Woman also put on a live stage show that shares much in common with similarly minded shows such as Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. A live performance by Celtic Woman was filmed for broadcast on PBS in 2004 and debuted a year later with an accompanying CD and DVD. The holiday-themed A Christmas Celebration appeared in 2006, with A New Journey following in 2007. As well as the group recordings, each member of Celtic Woman has released her own solo album.

Here are four of their lovely songs. Download them at the links below.

Shao Rong - Wild Orchids 2

In this album, the beautiful Chinese lute music is played by the female lute player Shao Rong from Shanghai. Born in Shanghai, she started taking lessons in piano at five years of age and lessons in lute at the age of ten. When she was in the 2nd year of her junior high school, a new junior high school under the wings of Beijing National Central Music Institute was established. Wishing to become independent of her parents, she took the transfer exams. Twenty thousand students took the entrance exams and only twelve passed. And out of the twelve, only five got to go the university. Shao Rong was one of these students. She had proved herself a genius.

Her style of performance comprises of the tremolo method which uses all five fingers ("Rinshi"), something original to the Chinese lute. It makes the instrument sound sometimes like a mandolin, sometimes whimsical like banjo. Her vibrant music and the sensitive yet dramatic performance just mesmerizes the listener.

Here's a couple of her songs. Download below. Enjoy them!. (PS ..if you like them, let me know ...i will upload some more tunes from her)

Alison Krauss - When You Say Nothing At All

Alison Krauss helped bring bluegrass to a new audience in the '90s. Blending bluegrass with folk, Krauss was instantly acclaimed from the start of her career, but it wasn't until her platinum-selling 1995 compilation Now That I've Found You that she became a mainstream star. Between her 1987 debut Too Late to Cry and Now That I've Found You, she matured from a child prodigy to a versatile, ambitious, and diverse musician and, in the process, made some of the freshest bluegrass of the late '80s and early '90s.

here's a nice song by Alison Krauss. it's called "When You Say Nothing At All". just click the link below to download.
